After the upper stage reached orbit and deployed 22 Starlink satellites for the Group 11-4 mission, it was supposed to conduct a burn for a controlled reentry over the ocean— a routine procedure for most Falcon 9 launches to low Earth orbit. However, the stage seemingly failed to execute the burn and remained in orbit. Due to atmospheric drag, its orbit eventually decayed, and in the early hours of February 19 (local time), it reentered over Europe. Debris from the stage, including composite overwrapped pressure vessels, fell in Poland near the city of Poznań. Fortunately, the falling debris resulted in only minor damage, including a crater in a Polish farmer's fields. He then reported to Polish television that he intended to seek compensation.
