Fennell’s Wuthering Heights compresses a complex, literary classic to a teenagers lascivious day-dream. Whether you’re seeing the film for escapism or for a faithful adaptation, your opinion will differ greatly. For the last 3 weeks I’ve been on a deep dive into Emily Brontë’s world and the world of Wuthering Heights all in preparation to witness Emerald Fennell’s adaptation. Here are my brutal and honest thoughts after sitting with it for a few days. I’m fascinated to hear your thoughts and if you felt there was an aspect I didn’t touch on that you’d like to talk more about, leave it in the comment section below! My next video will be a deep dive into the costume design by Jacqueline Durran (who also did Pride and Prejudice 2005, Barbie, Little Women, Beauty and the Beast, Anna Karenina, Atonement) As well as taking a closer look at the set design and cinematography, which in my opinion, where the best part of the movie.
