We Climbed A Remote, Unnamed Peak In The Utah Backcountry

On a previous trip in the area my curiosity was focused on a very pronounced peak. I had to come back and climb it! After some research, I was only able to come up with some numbers that were associated with the peak on a topo map, Peak 8888. The numbers (I think) simply signify the peaks elevation even I got 8889 ft once I was at summit. The climb did not follow any trail and the ascent included plenty of bush hogging as the the vegetation was dense in spots and some steep spots. Hiking sticks certainly helped with the descent. As far as I know, this was the first ever "RECORDED" ascent of this peak. We also named it Anthill Peak instead of Anthill Mountain since there was a huge anthill right at summit!
