Tired of writing copy that doesn't convert? Get the key to writing 7-figure copy... Go to: https://copysquad.net/7pages About: What’s up Copy Squad! Today I’ve got a special training just for you.. I want to address a BIG problem that many copywriters make in the earliest lines of their lead copy. It's a mistake that can cost you dearly, and it all boils down to one crucial aspect: Forgetting The Reader. In this video, I'll explain: What "forgetting the reader" means What it looks like And I’ll provide you with an example from one of the greatest copywriters in history, Mike Palmer. You see, many people believe that simply using NESB (New, Easy, Safe, Big) once will cover this issue, but they're dead wrong. Forgetting the reader is a meta-theme that should bleed through every single line of your copy. To set the context, I'll talk about the four major questions that drive a sales argument: 1. WIIFM (What's in it for me?) 2. How is that possible 3. How does it work 4. How can I get started. However, today, I want to focus on the most important question of all: WIIFM. The problem lies in the fact that most writers completely mess this up. They go on and on about their opportunity without specifically mentioning why the reader should care. Their mindset is flawed, assuming that the topic alone will captivate the reader's interest. But that's simply not true. Some writers try to compensate by being funny or creative, but the truth is, it's all just fluffy, foo-foo poetry BS. If you want your copy to be effective, here's a golden rule: you have 4-6 lines to tell the reader exactly what you have for them, or your copy is not doing its job. To illustrate this concept, I'll break down a sales letter from Stansberry Research, written by the legendary copywriter Mike Palmer. This letter, which is actually addressed directly to copywriters, demonstrates how to masterfully convey WIIFM without bombarding the reader with the same hypey promise over and over again. It's a prime example of how to engage the reader while avoiding the pitfall of forgetting them. Make sure you stay till the very end, as I'll show you how Mike Palmer open loops and cleverly pivots his message to overcome reader skepticism and build his own credibility. This breakdown will provide valuable insights and actionable tips for your own copywriting endeavors. I hope you enjoy this video and find it beneficial for your copywriting journey. Remember, don't forget the reader! Peace out, Copy Squad! Subscribe: / @copysquad Facebook: / copysquadllc
