Elektra Microcasa Semiautomatica: Cleaning the Grouphead and the 3-way solenoid valve.

Stefano of Stefano's espresso care is showing you how to perform basic Grouphead cleaning of the Elektra Semiautomatica espresso machine. Since the machine cannot be backflushed due to the lack of an OPV, removing the 3-way solenoid valve and cleaning it will maintain clean passages and help your espresso taste as good as it can. Severe build up may need to be soaked in espresso espresso detergent and then scrubbed with a grouphead brush. The shower-screen, diffuser and grouphead gasket may also need soaking and scrubbing. Scale is the enemy of the gigleur chamber. You don't have to worry about espresso residue build up since coffee will not reach that far back, but do make sure that the small jet hole is clear from scale and other sediment.
