The car was completed on the 16th of December 1949, and shipped to Canadian distributor, James L. Cooke Motors in Toronto, Canada. The date of dispatch is shown as January 1950, and the car was finished new in the color scheme it still wears today. This information is confirmed by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. The car was comprehensively restored by RM Restoration in 1990 and survives in superb condition considering the age of the restoration. The car has been used twice on the Colorado Grand, which demonstrates that it is as well resolved mechanically as it is cosmetically. s/n 670059, engine no. W1112-8. The quality of the restoration is obvious, and from inspecting the car, it is clear why RM Restoration has been able to win awards at the world's foremost concours including Pebble Beach. The body is very straight throughout and has beautiful paint with minimal wear and aging. The chrome is excellent throughout and the restoration has a freshness that belies its age; it looks as though it is perhaps three or four years old. The car is also very correctly presented. The lights, steel wheels, and other details are correct, which extends to the interior as well. The leather on the seats, door panels, and dashboard is excellent, with high quality materials, excellent workmanship, and very little wear. The carpets are similarly nice, having been executed in high quality wool and fitted to high standards. There are a few areas of wear on the backs of the seats. The instruments and controls are correct in appearance and in excellent condition throughout, although the turn signal switch is missing from the steering wheel. The steering wheel itself is excellent and has the correct early type horn button. The Jaguar is equipped with the characteristic and evocative pressed steel wheels and rear wheel spats, which give a dramatic shape and proper smooth, clean look. Very frequently, wire wheels are fitted in place of the pressed steel type, which necessitates the removal of the spats due to the wire wheel hubs.The engine is correctly presented and very clean. The carburetors and ancillaries have been authentically restored and the car displays great details such as the cloth wiring harness, glass windscreen washer fluid reservoir, and grease gun affixed to the firewall. The car also has its factory tire pump and jack with handle. The trunk has been thoroughly restored as well and also presents quite freshly. This is an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire an excellent example of one of the most iconic and significant cars of the 20th century. A genuine aluminum XK120 roadster, this car is finished in its original colors (Burgundy with Two Tone Red and Biscuit Leather Interior )and has been beautifully restored. It is event proven, widely eligible for the world's most prestigious events, and would make a distinguished addition to any collection.
