Welcome to the third episode of our overlanding adventure in Oman! In this episode, we journey through Northern Oman, the land of stunning wadis, majestic mountains, and beautiful beaches. As temperatures rise, we find solace in higher altitudes and refreshing wadis. 🌊⛰️ Our exploration begins with Wadi Hawer, Wadi Bani Khalid, Wadi Tiwi, and Wadi Shab, each offering fun water experiences and a much-needed respite from the heat. We also swim with turtles at Fins Beach and witness a turtle returning to the sea after laying her eggs at Ras al Hadd near Sur. 🐢✨ From Muscat, we embark on a boat trip to the Daymaniyat Islands, where we snorkel with turtles, colorful fish, reef sharks, and even whalesharks—an early arrival this season brought us incredible luck. 🐋🌟 Leaving the coast, we venture into Oman's two main mountain areas. At Jebel Akhdar, we enjoy wild camping and become active again thanks to the lower temperatures and well-marked trails like The Four Village Walk and The Lost Village Hike. 🏞️🏕 At Jebel Shams, we camp at the edge of a sheer cliff with a breathtaking view of the canyon below. We hike the Balcony Walk, leading to a hidden pool at the end. At the bottom of the canyon lies Wadi Ghul/Nakhal, a stunning surprise. 🏜️ We finish our mountain adventure with Little Snake Canyon and Snake Canyon, where we reunite with our friends Johannes & Anna.
