Report One: Scoping review of NHS restraint policies

This webinar presents the findings of a scoping review of NHS restraint policies in relation to people with learning disabilities. Following a freedom of information request to all NHS Trust in England, it collated NHS Use of Force policies covering restrictive practice in mental health wards. The research asked: to what extent were these policies implementing the requirements of the Mental Health Units (Use of Force) Act 2018 in relation to people with learning disabilities? This webinar runs through the findings, making clear recommendations for how NHS Trusts can achieve better policy compliance, adhering to both the letter and the spirit of the law, and creating more equitable policy recommendations for mental health wards, with particular regard to patients with learning disabilities.
