Rothes Golf Course was opened in 1990 through the hard work and perseverance of the members of Rothes Golf Club which had been established many years before. Members of the club would play in courses across Moray until the golf course was established in Rothes. Located in the heart of the Spey Valley, on the famous Whisky Trail, Rothes Golf Course was initially opened as a nine-hole course in 1990, and has seen many changes over the past few years to include two sets of distinct tees. The Puncheon Course (Orange) and a Hogshead Course (Green Tees) are both named after sizes of Whisky barrels synonymous with the water of life. Today's course is an inland course, built on parkland featuring lush tree-lined fairways overlooks wonderful panoramic views of the Spey Valley and the friendly village of Rothes. This is a member-owned club providing a test of skill for golfers of all abilities.
