His talk focuses on the fundamentals of thinking and behaving that enabled him to set his world records against all odds. He will analyse the similarities between extreme physical adventures and the challenges we face daily. Reza Pakravan is an extreme adventurer, motivational speaker, documentary maker and a promoter and fundraiser for educational projects in Africa. He’s a former basketball player and has extensive professional education in finance, working for ten years in the industry in London. In 2013, Reza decided to leave his job behind and pursue extreme adventuring full-time in order to make a difference in his life and to raise funds to support educational projects in Africa. He set the world record in 2011 for crossing the Sahara desert by bicycle. He then set the world record in 2013 for the fastest bicycle journey the length of the planet from Norway to South Africa – 11,000 miles in 102 days. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
