Future4Leopards - Humans and wildlife coexisting in northern Iran

Mega-fauna, implying large mammalian species, are disappearing from the majority of their global range due to habitat encroachment and human persecution. Is there any chance for large mammals to persist on our crowded planet? This short film, taken recently by a camera trap over two weeks at a trail leading to a major village in northern Iran, shows there is hope. People and wildlife can share their lands, as long as animals are not persecuted. Our Future4leopards’s Leopard Guardian program, which is about hiring ex-poachers as rangers to protect wildlife, is trying to show this model in a Middle Eastern montane area with rich biodiversity.
