In the new episode of the artim film series, Julia Curyło presents the history of the artwork "Hen: Barbara Kruger". The artist discusses the recurring hen motif, which has been realized through various technical implementations, remaining a constant element in her work. Visual representations on metal and inflatable sculptures allude to the history of women's art. Julia Curyło's painting is replete with symbolism. The roots of her work can be mainly found in surrealism and neo-pop art. The artist frequently draws inspiration from pop culture and science, reinterprets traditional painting themes, and reflects on the role of religion and metaphysics in the contemporary world. She is the winner of the Grand Prix of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as well as a special award from the BWA City Gallery in Bydgoszcz.
