Biking in the North End — Winnipeg Urban Design Critique

My partner and I bike around the North End in this one. The North End is a mostly working class ward with a large share of Winnipeg's communities of color. This area is highly Indigenous and Filipino, and has many newcomers and immigrants as well. Though it has many social problems due to inequity, racism, and colonization, it's a lovely part of town with a tight-knit community. Winnipeg is located on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Aninishiniwak, Dakota, Dene, and Ininiwak peoples, and the homeland of the Métis nation. Indigenous peoples did not view the Treaties as a cession of the land, and Canada has repeatedly failed to uphold its end of the Treaties.
