1st Home Gifted in West Bengal | बांग्लादेशी हिंदू विधवा बहन को मिला सहारा | HSF

For the first time ever, Hindu Samman Foundation (HSF) has built and donated a permanent home to a Bangladeshi Hindu refugee family in West Bengal. This is the story of Aparna Rai, a courageous Bangladeshi Hindu woman who came to India seeking safety. Within just 6 months of arriving, she lost her husband and was left to survive in a flooded jhuggi with her elderly father-in-law—who also passed away recently. She couldn’t speak or understand Hindi or English, had no source of income, and no roof over her head. When we last visited her, her makeshift shelter was submerged in water. With folded hands and hesitation, she asked if HSF could help her build a real home. Today, thanks to 43 generous donors, we fulfilled that promise. Aparna now has a safe and dignified home to call her own. This marks a historic milestone for HSF—our first home for a Bangladeshi Hindu refugee family. We have supported many Pakistani Hindu refugees before, and this is a powerful step towards extending that help to our Bangladeshi Hindu brothers and sisters.
