North Korean Target Practice in Honam

Decommissioned military bases can be found here and there across Honam. This one in North Jeolla Province (전라북도) is special for its smattering of plastic North Korean soldiers placed around the base. I’ve found half a dozen either hanging from barbed wire fencing, hunkering in dugouts and trenches, or lying beneath the leaf litter. My favorite is the one that’s been used for target practice with a few different kinds of ammo. Now local farmers use it as a scarecrow. In addition to these finds, I stumbled upon a lot of angry bees and got my first bee sting as a result. One stung me behind my ear, so I took off running until the attacks stopped. I wasn’t sure how I’d react, but it turns out I’m not allergic to bee stings. Thank goodness! Anyway, enjoy the video and the bootleg North Korean track.
