Lymphedema can be a life-long side effect of breast cancer treatment, but knowing your options early can make a difference. Dr. Monique Gary shares the latest strategies in “prehab” before surgery, how to spot symptoms early, and best practices for managing lymphedema at any stage. Patient advocate Keelin McDermott also joins us to share her experience with lymphedema after an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis. About the speakers Monique Gary, DO, MSc, FACS Dr. Monique Gary is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist and biotech leader practicing in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Keelin McDermott At age 26, Keelin was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy, and she is grateful to have been in remission for more than a year.
