I finally open a box of 1991-92 Future Trends Canada ’72 Summit Series Hockey Hobby. It's the type of product only the most earnest hobbyists seek out. This is how it is described. "Future Trends Experience Ltd. produced this 101-card standard-size set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series between the Soviets and the Canadians. The 70 players of the Canadian and Russian teams were represented, and 30 additional special cards captured unforgettable moments from the series. Between one and two special cards, signed in gold paint pen by living Canadian players, were randomly inserted into each foil case. Only one non-Canadian, Vladislav Tretiak, signed cards. Supposedly each of the signers signed only 750 cards for insertion and distribution within the packs. These cards were specially coated with a swirl pattern over the autograph. The cards featured on the fronts borderless black-and-white, action or posed pictures. A white, red, and gold stripe cut across the bottom of the card face and intersected the '72 Hockey Canada logo at the lower right corner. The backs carried additional photos, biographical information, series statistics, sportswriters' editorial comments, and/or player quotes. Card number 40 featured Phil Esposito's September 8, 1972, address to the nation. The card number appeared in a blue oblong design within the bottom red stripe on both sides. The '72 Hockey Canada logo also appeared in the lower right corner of the back." __________________________ GENERAL GIVEAWAY: Every 100 subscribers I will give away either: 1.
