Introducing our New Gazelle Babies

Go inside our Plains barn with Zookeeper Krista to meet the two critically endangered Addra gazelle calves born at the Indianapolis Zoo this winter. The firstborn had some health complications that prevented him from standing to nurse, so our animal care team stepped in immediately to begin providing daily medication and bottle feedings. Through their around-the-clock care, the calf is now fully recovered, healthy and growing. Our second gazelle baby is healthy and nursing well. The full herd is together now, and they'll be outside when the weather begins warming up in the spring.
