Cozy Snow Day Family Vlog - Baking, Sledding & Slow Winter Moments

There is something special about a snow day — even if you’re not a fan of cold weather. As two working parents, getting unexpected time at home with our son felt like such a gift. These three snow days turned into the coziest little pause from real life. We spent our time cooking comfort foods like lasagna and beef stew, baking sourdough bagels, and even tackling a long-awaited baking project — homemade macarons. Our days were filled with puzzles, games, couch forts, movies, naps, and lots of family snuggles. We also did a lot of bird watching from our windows. Our feeders became the busiest place in the yard with birds and squirrels visiting all day long. Every once in a while, they would scatter, and we knew a hawk was nearby. It felt like our own little nature show right outside. Of course, we couldn’t miss playing in the snow too — cleaning off cars, making snow angels, and sledding across the icy crust the next day. Mark pushing Markie across the snow might be one of my favorite moments from the whole storm. I may not love cold weather, but I loved these slow, cozy days together. Sometimes being snowed in is exactly what a family needs.
