One more organs donation from Surat through Donate Life. Ours is a country blessed with HUMANITY & KINDNESS : "True Kindness lies within the act of giving without the expectation of anything in return". A daughter looses her father Shitalbhai Gandhi (aged 49 & working as a salesman in a medical store, the only bread earner of the family). He was declared brain dead by doctors of United Green Hospital, Surat. The old parents of Shitalbhai, his wife and daughter were counseled by the Donate life team & his cousin Bansibhai Gandhi to donate his vital organs. To add to her trauma, the daughter has to appear in her S.Y. B.Com examination today & then perform her father's last rites. A harsh, cruel & painful irony of life. But, in the midst of this personal loss & crises, Humanity prevails....Kindness prevails..... The family agrees to donate his vital organs - Kidney, Liver, Heart, Lungs and Corneas which could give new lease of life to five persons. Shitalbhai's 2D echo was done in ICU & found normal. In the operation theatre, CIMS doctors team found blockage in his arteries & so it was decided not to procure his heart. Due to logistics problem lungs were not procured by Doctors team of KIMS Hospital Hyderabad. One Kidney & Liver transplantation was done at Zydus Hospital Ahmedabad. Another Kidney transplantation was done at IKDRC Ahmedabad. Corneas were donated to Lok Drashti chakshu Bank. The Gandhi family has set an example of Humanity. We bow our head in salute for the bereaved family for their act of selflessness & courage. DONATE LIFE, extends its milestone: With this donation till date 1006 organs and tissue have been donated through Donate Life that gave new lease of life to 919 persons across the country and globe.
