Brasov is one of the most beautiful and famous cities in Romania. Being located in the well-known region of Transylvania, it's a destination visited by a lot of tourists every year and on the bucket list of many. It's a destination where you can do a lot of things - relax in the city center, admire beautiful views of the city from above, do day-trips to Sibiu, Sighisoara, Transfagarasan or other areas like the one presented in the video - Manastirea Rupestra Sinca Veche, Valea Zanelor (Castelul de Lut) and of course, the famous castles - Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and more! The city is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and charming old town. It is home to numerous historical landmarks, including the Black Church, Council Square, and the Brasov Fortress. One of the iconic symbols of Brasov is the Black Church (Biserica Neagra), which is the largest Gothic church in Romania. It got its name after a fire in the 17th century darkened its walls. Brasov has a rich cultural scene, with numerous festivals and events taking place throughout the year. The Brasov International Film Festival, the Brasov Jazz & Blues Festival, and the Golden Stag Music Festival are some notable events. Brasov has a strong German influence due to its history as a major medieval trading hub and its connection to the Transylvanian Saxons. You can still see this influence in the architecture and culture of the city. Brasov is also famous for its impressive city walls and defense towers, some of which date back to the 15th century. The White Tower and the Black Tower are two notable examples that offer panoramic views of the city. In the winter you can go skiing to Brasov as a lot of local people do. If you visit Transylvania, I definitely recommend you to rent a car and explore as much as you can!
