Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways In this video we have our annual visit to our friends at The North Yorkshire Moors Railway for their annual steam gala. 4 guest locos made an appearance Ivatt 2-6-2 tank 41313 visiting from The Isle of Wight Steam Railway, The Darlington Preservation Society's BR Std 2 2-6-0 78019 visiting from The Great Central Railway. Southern Locomotive Ltd's As built Battle of Britain bulleid pacific 34072 257 Squadron from The Swanage Railway & BR Std 4 tank 80078 visiting from The Mid Norfolk Railway. There were noticble absentees from the 2025 gala. North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group's pair in P3 2392 & Q6 63395 which they were at Hopetown Darlington for The Titan's of Steam Gala. The LNER Coach Accosiastion's Teak carriages for the 2nd year in a row. No gds train workings during the weekend due to maintenence issues. We cover the highlights from Thursday through to the Saturday of the gala weekend including the preview day as we see the shed staff at Grosmont MPD doing the final preperations. The gala saw the railway's falgship loco 5428 Eric Treacy making his 1st appearance back in British Railways guise for the 1st time since 2016 but with a twist appearing in plain BR Black showing the public how the loco looked in the 1960's towards the end of steam in 1968. The highlights for us this year during the gala. Thursday The Black 5 double header which was a on board rerun from last season's gala ill fated run but now 12 months later the duo put on a worthy display. Friday & Saturday were days at the lineside between Grosmont & the summit at Moorgates. Sunday was hoping for more on board footage but sadly all the plans were cancelled after 34072 257 Squadron failed due to his fire grates in the firebox had problems & The Self Family's 9f 92134 failed to show in Sunday due to a broken spring. Anyway all in all apart from the NELPG duo & the gds train being noticeble absents from the weekend it was a great event & it didn't end in operational politics like last year.
