I was requested to compare folk songs from both countries. Since there were many attempts and comparisons between Anatolian Greek and Turkish common songs, I took the risk to do an experiment with Greek "proper" music. My conclusion is that they share a few similarities, but overall they are quite different from each other. My impression is that Turkish music is a mix of middle eastern, central Asian, Caucasian and Byzantine sounds, meanwhile Greek is Southern European, and more particularly intermediate to Italian/Spanish and Balkan music genres. The images are from Google, whenever a Greek song plays, a temple from Syros is Shown, and whenever a Turkish songs plays, a Mosque from Istanbul is shown feel free to tell us your opinion in the comments, and if you liked the video, give me a like, and subscribe for more :)
