We like to think we're all very worldly when it comes to eating out, but it's nice to be put back in your box sometimes. So with many thanks to Joe Mcgrath for the steer, we headed to Zoroona for a culinary tour of Libya right here in Manchester. What we found was a wealth of dishes from sumptuous Libyan couscous, Reshdat Kaskas, that pasta dish served with melting lamb, the famous 'sharba' (lamb and mint soup), stuffed fried potatoes, traditional Libyan sausage and 'gideed', dried, spiced meat that's Libya's answer to jerky. With a recipe page that already has nearly 140,000 followers on TikTok - and videos with over a million views - this welcoming neighbourhood cafe is as authentic as it comes, serving not only Manchester's thriving Libyan community but also those with adventurous palates all over the city. .....
