Tools you'll need: Craig and Rose 1829 Undercoat, Craig and Rose High Performance Gloss spray paint in black, Craig and Rose Artisan Marble Effect spray paint in white, a dust sheet, a paint brush, gloves, dust mask, safety goggles, sandpaper and high quality masking tape. 1. Read the paint usage instructions Before you begin, carefully read the paint usage instructions. 2. Sand and clean the chest of drawers Sand down the chest of drawers to smooth out imperfections, then clean off any dust or dirt. 3. Cover the chest in 1829 Undercoat Paint the clean, sanded chest with Craig & Rose 1829 Undercoat and allow it to dry for at least 12 hours before you start applying the base paint colour. 4. Shake the High Performance Gloss paint The marble effect spray paint must be applied over Craig & Rose Artisan High Performance colours for best results. Start by thoroughly shaking the base spray paint for two minutes. 5. Spray the High Performance Gloss onto the chest Hold the can at least six inches from the chest of drawers and spray the High Performance spray paint across the surface you want to cover. Let the paint dry for at least 20 minutes between coats. 6. Apply masking tape Mask off any areas you don't want to cover in marble effect. 7. Shake the Marble Effect paint Thoroughly shake the can of Craig & Rose Artisan Marble Effect spray paint for two minutes. 8. Spray Marble Effect onto the surface Hold the can at least six inches from the chest of drawers and spray the marble effect spray paint across the surface you want to cover. Craig and Rose Marble Effect is similar to ‘silly string’. To get an even finish make sure you start the spray off the edge of the chest, so the spray is even before it hits the surface. 9. Add new handles to finish the look To further upcycle your chest you could add new handles or knobs.
