The film includes voiceover from scriptwriter Christopher Barry, who also appears on screen. Commentary alongside acted scene: Discusses 1951 being 'Festival year'; Festival committee asked the Film Society to make a film as part of celebrations, so the scriptwriter met with the Festival committee. The film follows 'script writer', Christopher Barry throughout. Mayor Councillor Cllr Ward suggested "Beech trees", due to prosperity wood from Chilton Hills has brought to area, earning the town the nickname 'valley of chairs'. Men, such as Ralph Gray, have been making chair legs for 53 years, with wood now going directly to factories. West Wycombe High St, Bassetsbury Manor, Turner Antiques all shown as demonstrations of the town's antiquity. This films aim is to focus on 'today' not history, to 'show our great-grandchildren what we were like and how we lived' in 1951.
