About Cool Runnings is a 1993 comedy film directed by Jon Turteltaub. It is loosely based on the true story of the Jamaica national bobsled team's debut at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta. It stars Leon Robinson, Doug E. Doug, Malik Yoba, and Rawle D. Lewis, with John Candy as Irv Blitzer, the retired bobsledder and coach of the Jamaican bobsledders. Speech As they are enjoying a few drinks in a bar, Yul orders Junior into the bathroom and take a look at himself in the mirror. He gives him the motivation he needs and gets Junior to repeat a speech that Yul shouts out.
