It is approximately 3 KM from Central Business District of Nairobi. Sarit Centre in this locality is first ever shopping centre opened in independent Kenya. It is the largest mall in East & Central Africa with 800,000 square feet of retail space. Another shopping mall in this area is Westgate, which is a luxury kind and popular among Kenya's new consumer class. This mall has a history of a terrorist attack in 2013 killing at least 68 civilians.
