Over the last few years, the police brutality and racial discrimination within the justice system became more visible to the public eye with the help of social media. Many people push for the support between the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) and Black/African Disporan communities. History in school have erase the Asian solidarity with the Black/African Disporan communities to continue to divide between the communities. From Yuri Kochiyama to the Asian American Political Alliance to groups like Jackfroot, Unapologetically Asian, and Hate is a Virus, there are many examples of solidarity with the two communities. This panel discuss the history of the Asian Solidarity with Civil Rights and Black Lives Matter, the myths and implicit biases that have been established by white supremacy to divide the communities, and how we can support each other while holding allies along with friends, co-workers, and family accountable. Join us on Thursday, May 13th at 8:30pm Eastern for this discussion on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.
