Recording of the April/May 2023 IFES discussion; Attitudes towards democracy – trends in Central Europe How are popular attitudes to democracy changing in Europe, what with the political developments in Hungary and Poland, signs of concern in Slovakia and an unclear situation in the Czech Republic? The war in Ukraine impacts Central Europe in many ways, including through increased propaganda by Kremlin government and large numbers of Ukrainians fleeing the conflict. This online discussion will focus on popular democratic resilience in Central Europe – today and in the future. This IFES online discussion will bring together a panel of experts to explore these questions and discuss trends in attitudes towards democracy in Central Europe and what these mean for the future.
