Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band's 2016 debut at the Paisley British Championships

This is Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band making a welcome return to the Pipe Band Championships. The band is playing under Pipe Major Roderick MacLeod and Leading Drummer Jim Kilpatrick. The band last competed in 2008 when it was formed to compete the World Pipe Band Championships. The band is playing the following medley: The Staloch Turkeys, The 9/8 Jig, Jimmy Ward's Jig, Inisheer, Miss Robertson of Greshornish, The Spirits of Old Pulteney, Dr Alisdair MacKenzie, Tha'm Buntata Mor, We're a case, the bunch of us, Sleepy Maggie. Conditions were far from satisfactory. The band had to compete with what seemed like continual intrusive loudspeaker announcements from an adjacent competition ring, the noise from two aeroplanes taking off during the performance from the nearby International Airport and a viciously heavy shower of rain which started as the band marched to the arena.
