This is it, the moment we've all been waiting for, my obligatory "what is a traditional martial art" video. As it turns out, a traditional martial art is a very tricky thing to define, and it took me 27 whole minutes, not to mention a lot of weird turns of phrase. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of the many other martial arts YouTubers who have covered this topic before me, whose videos are listed further down in the sources. (Also, I included Yagi Akihito Sensei in the thumbnail specifically because he both scares and inspires me) Please let me know what you think about my definition of a traditional martial art is, and why I'm completely wrong.
