UK heart surgeons in Zambia for paediatric ops

By Honester Mshoka Over ten children are set to receive free open- heart surgeries from the United Kingdom-UK based medical team of Healing Little Hearts at the National Heart Hospital in Lusaka. The initiative has been facilitated by Trade Kings Group in collaboration with National Heart Hospital and the UK Healing Little hearts. Trade Kings Manager Public Relations BRIDGET KAMBOBE says the initiative will provide medical support and help develop a sustainable cardiac surgery programme in Zambia and the region. Ms. KAMBOBE was speaking during the visit to the National Heart Hospital- NHH in Lusaka. Meanwhile, NHH Senior Medical Superintendent CHABWELA SHUMBA said this collaboration between Zambia and the UK shows a shared vision of improving health outcomes through knowledge exchange and capacity building. And Healing Little Hearts Consultant Paediatric, ANTHONY HEMUZI said the visiting medical experts will also learn from Zambia and train the local medical experts.
