Part 3 of my Rajasthan Bike Ride series starts from the golden city of Jaisalmer as we ride out from the historic Jaisalmer Fort early in the morning. The plan was simple — explore the beautiful Sam Sand Dunes, seek blessings at the famous Tanot Mata Mandir, and visit the legendary Longewala War Memorial, where one of the most iconic battles of the 1971 India–Pakistan war was fought. The morning started perfectly — open desert roads, great company, and the excitement of riding through Rajasthan. But sometimes the journey has its own plans. In the middle of the desert, far from any city or help, my bike suddenly refused to start. What was supposed to be a smooth ride quickly turned into a day of struggle, patience, and teamwork under the harsh desert sun. But this ride also reminded us of something powerful — even in the most remote parts of the country, the presence of the Indian Army makes you feel safe and proud to travel across these borders. And of course, a huge thank you to my friends who stood by me and supported me through the breakdown in the middle of nowhere. This wasn’t just a ride.
