Day 5 - Everest Base Camp | Phortse to Pengboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp | Sagarmatha | Nepal | EBC

On the fifth day we went from Phortse (3810 m) to Pengboche (3867 m) and did a day hike (acclimatization hike ) to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4600 m). It took us ~2 hours to get to Pengboche and from there, ~3 hours to get to the Ama Dablam Base Camp. The later hike was tough one, almost vertical all the way. But the scenery was priceless and worth every pain. At the base camp, we met the legendary climber Nirmal Purja (Nims Dai) from Elite expedition. He made us coffee and shared his experience in the mountains. This day, we hiked over 9 miles and the sight of the most beautiful mountain (Ama Dablam) didn't leave us the whole time. Next morning (day 6), we went straight to Dengboche. There, we had home-stay at Pasang Dawa Sherpa's house where his wife cooked us delicious momo and food. Thank you all the members.
