The Arabian Sea, A Marginal Sea Of The Indian Ocean, Situated Between The Indian Subcontinent, The Arabian Peninsula And The Horn Of Africa. Arabian Sea Is The Northwestern Part Of The Indian Ocean And Covers Approximately 3,862,000 Square Kilometers In Total Surface Area, Making It The Largest Subdivision Of The Indian Ocean. There Are A Total Of 7 Countries Which Have Coastline On The Arabian Sea, They Are India, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, Yemen, Somalia, And Maldives. The Arabian Sea Is Connected To Surrounding Bodies Of Water By A Series Of Gulfs And Straits. The Gulf Of Oman, Connects The Arabian Sea To The Persian Gulf, And The Gulf Of Aden Connects It To The Red Sea. The Sea Is Bounded By The Somali Sea In The Southwest And Joins The Indian Ocean In The South. It Is Separated From The Bay Of Bengal By The Laccadive Sea. The Arabian Sea Has An Average Depth Of 2,734 Meters, With A Maximum Depth Of 5,803 Metres (Wheatley Deep). It Is Approximately 2,400 Km Wide At Its Widest Point. The Arabian Sea's Proximity To Several Strategically Important Regions, Such As The Suez Canal And The Persian Gulf, Makes It A Center Of Geopolitical Interest. Oil Rich Countries In The Middle East, Such As Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates And Iran, Rely On The Arabian Sea For Their Export Activities, Thus Arabian Sea Serves As A Crucial Maritime Trade Route Connecting The Middle East, South Asia, And East Africa. Arabian Sea Contains Some Of The World’s Busiest Shipping Lanes. Several Major Ports And Cities Are Located Along The Coast Of The Arabian Sea, Such As Mumbai (Bharat), Karachi (Pakistan), And Muscat (Oman). The Arabian Sea Does Not Have Many Large Islands As Compared To Other Marginal Seas. The Sacotra Island Of Yemen, Part Of The Sacotra Archipelago, Is The Largest Island Situated In Arabian Sea. The Island Covers Roughly 3800 Square Kilometers In Surface Area.
