Rick Armstrong has secured Pole Position for the opening race of the weekend in the Summerset GT New Zealand Championship, narrowly edging out Regan Scoullar in a dramatic Qualifying session. Scoullar’s run would come to an early end after losing the rear through Turn 11 and spinning into the sand, bringing out the red flag. Nigel Cromie rounded out the top three, sealing a Porsche one-two-three, with the leading trio covered by less than two tenths of a second. In GT4, the Toyota Supras were separated by virtually nothing, with Allan Sargeant narrowly beating Lachlan Evernnett to class pole, while circuit owner Tony Quinn completed the top three.
