Line and Color Quick Start Guide: https://www.thedrawingcodex.com/quick... Step by Step, Lets draw a character in action from start to finish in real time. I cover all of the steps and stages required from the thumbnail to mannequin/stick figure, to anatomy and form to final details and costume, and effects. In pencil. Nothing skipped :) In this video I'm drawing a Fantasy Elf Girl. In this case the character is Ara from a book I wrote and drew which was published in 2011. We also go over the basic concepts for creating a mini simple illustration. Often adding simple elements and effects to a character drawing can help top create something that feels more like an Illustration than a simple character sketch. In this case the elements are some rocks that she is punching apart and some speed lines! Very simple ideas that can add a lot of impact to a simple drawing. This is a 2hour demo so pretty long, but I go over my process for how to use the concepts of Loomis Mannequins to pose and plan out character drawings and then build muscle on top. This is a demonstration where I focus on how I would actually draw a character like this... it's a bit more messy and unstructured compared to the drawing lessons elsewhere on this channel. If you want to learn about the techniques I am using based on the Loomis Method you can check out these videos: Building The Figure - • Learning To Draw The Figure From Imag... Posing The Figure - • Learning to Pose Your Character Drawi... Different Body Types - • Learning to Draw Different Body Types... With most types of stylised types of art - There is often a mix of structure and perspective and technical drawing.... combined with symbols and abstract features. Once you get good at blocking in proportion and posing with the Loomis Method you can use it to suit your own style. It's just a tool you can use to help you draw cool stuff! Happy Drawing!
