Communicating Radar Technology using Fractional Fourier Transform Division Multiplexing

Recent development in radars and wireless technologies and their high demand of resources have promoted and encouraged the research in the field of joint radar-communication (CoRadar) systems. For applications in which a system needs to sense the environment while communicating with another cooperative system, a CoRadar architecture represents an efficient solution in terms of resources allocation. The Sensor Signal Processing and Security Laboratories of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde developed a novel technique of embedding data in a pulse radar waveform based on the Fractional Fourier Transform (FrFT).
