A recent visit to Jangphutse, a serene village high in the hills of Tashiyangtse, to collect fresh millet for Shaoulee Food Products turned into a truly memorable experience. The uphill journey takes about 4 to 5 hours, but the destination is worth every step. Known for its fertile land, Jangphutse is home to a wide variety of grains and cereals grown using traditional, sustainable methods. While Shaoulee have the option to import millet from outside country bringing down the logistic price—the heart of this project lies in supporting our local farmers. That’s why Shaoulee Food Products chose to make the journey to Jangphutse: to stand with our farming communities and ensure that their efforts are valued and sustained. Surrounded by nature and the warmth of the local farming community, this visit was a reminder of the deep connection between the land and the food we enjoy. The millet collected here reflects the purity and richness of Bhutanese agriculture. Take a glimpse into this beautiful journey and see where wholesome, natural food truly begins.
