Happy Lunar New Year!・Inala Civic Centre Walk・Year of the Fire Horse 2026・4K Brisbane Walks

In Vietnamese it's known as Tết Nguyên Đán. The Lunar New Year is officially tomorrow (17th February), but I headed to the Inala Civic Centre to check out the decorations and join the shoppers in their preparations for the Year of the Horse! The Brisbane suburb of Inala has the largest Vietnamese Australian community in all of Queensland. So the Lunar New Year products have a distinctive Vietnamese vibe to them. Inala sometimes has a reputation that I don't really think it deserves. But it's one of my favourite places to visit in Brisbane. It almost feels like you're transported to Saigon as you walk past the restaurants and smell the cooking from inside. And the variety of cheaper street foods available is pretty rare to find in Brisbane. Not to mention the really tasty Vietnamese coffee!
