The return of the famous moo! Unfortunately this WPS-2806 definitely isn’t happy with the moo tone, the drivers wee audibly crackling throughout the whole test and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few are dead. They tested about 15 minutes late immediately after I called them. While waiting, someone came out of the nearby house and we talked with him. This is one of the WPS-2800s that was originally installed in the evacuation zone of the Umatilla Chemical Depot before it was removed and donated to Cannon Beach RFPD after the last batch of nerve gas had been destroyed and the sirens were no longer needed. It was originally siren number D7 in the UCD system. I recorded this on a trip with my friend Marco, who also recorded it. On this trip we also went down to Rockaway Beach, where I talked to the fire chief about possibly getting an FC controller, a CD&F controller and their Sentry 10V. After that, we went up to Warrenton and got to test their newly installed ex-Umatilla controller without the siren, which will be installed sometime next week. Overall a very fun trip. Location of this siren: 45.8074769, -123.9635484 Testing time: First Wednesday of the month at 11:00AM
