Leica SL3 + Samyang 35-150 f/2-2.8 - Top L-Mount Lens for Smaller Budget

This is my detailed review of the Samyang 35-150mm f/2-2.8 L-Mount lens, shot on my Leica SL3 Reporter. For showing you sample images I gave the camera-lens combination SL3 + Samyang 35-150 a special challenge: I did a hand-held shooting in low light at the evening hours in Zurich downtown which led to images shot with very high ISO values, most of the time with an ISO of 25000. Of course, when doing the noise reduction, this "eats away" a bit of details in the images but the images came out very strong nevertheless as you will see in the sample image section. And by the way, sorry for talking in the first half of the video about ISO 25600 although its always 25000 in the Leica SL3 world. I guess that slightly overstated number comes from my many shooting with my Hasselblad X2D II camera body where the ISO grid takes you to 25600 whereas on the Leica SL3 it takes you to 25000. My conclusion is that this lens has my full recommendation. The only caveat is that for a city like Zurich the 35mm setting as the shortest focal length (widest Field of View) on the lens is sometimes too narrow to also catch church towers or higher buildings. But for landscape, reportage and people photography (which I do not explicitly show in the images) this lens clearly is a keeper based on a widest open aperture of f/2 at the wide angle focal length of 35mm and automatically stopped down to still widest open f/2.8 in at tele focal length of 150mm. The sharpness of the lens, its contrast and micro contrast are fully convincing although the Leica SL3 sensor in this particular shooting situation was really challenged by the very high ISO values I was using on the camera. And the really good news on top is that this lens has a price tag of around USD 1000 which fits also in smaller budgets.
