Obviously none of this is my work. I wanted to add a discussion portion, but this video is long enough. Some of my favorite scenes for the intense and complex character, younger Toguro, from the 90's anime Yu Yu Hakusho. Clips are from episodes 23-65. Sorry for occasional low quality. EDIT: For those who mention that it is not "early anime" in terms of year, that depends only on your criterion. While it's true that anime began many decades before YYH, it has increased in quantity over the years. The median-value year is some time in the early-mid 2000's, as in, 50% of anime were released before that time, and 50% came out after. In that YYH is a solid decade before this median-value year, it is comparatively older than the supermajority of existing anime.
