The Prophet ﷺ said: “No one from this Nation hears of me, whether a Jew or a Christian, and then dies not believing in what I was sent with, except he will be from the companions of the Fire.” (Sahih Muslim) Several questions arise from this hadith, such as: a) What does it mean for the “message to have reached” someone?  b) When will a non-Muslim be accountable for embracing Islam?  c) What is the fate of those who the message has not reached?  This video-presentation explores traditional scholarly opinions on these issues and looks at to what extent non-Muslims of the present time fall under the category of the “unreached”.
