The fantastic Tony Christie singing his hit song 'I did what I did for Maria', which reached no. 2 in the UK charts and was kept off the top spot by 'Chirpy, chirpy, cheep, cheep, in Settle last night. He said his wife at the time was due to give birth when it reached No. 2 and she said she wouldn't give birth until it reached No. 1. However, it never did and when she eventually gave birth to their daughter they named her Maria as her second name after the record 🙂
