I wanted a bed 🛌 with sliding doors storage, more practical than drawers which require space on the sides and get blocked by bedside tables. Not finding this type of bed on the market, I had the idea of this IKEA HACK using 4 Mackapär units (shoe storage bench) as a base. For each side of the bed, I fixed 2 Mackapär units together on which I fixed a large strip of padded wood to hide and hold the bedspring. To prevent the entire weight of the bed from resting on the furniture, I decided to make holes on each side to allow the legs of the bedspring to pass through.
