After 25 years of use, we replace our toilet in the 1st floor bathroom. We chose TOTO Drake 1.6gpf based on its features (efficient "tornado flush," and numerous top reviews from its 30 years of history, as well as from MaP testing data. We wanted the "universal height" which is nearly 2" higher than "standard height" for comfort and ease. We chose the TOTO S7A washlet bidet based on our experiences in Japan. We wanted these functions: auto lid open/close, auto flush, auto lid close before flush, hot water cleaning, hot air, hot seat functions. The installation wasn't difficult for amateurs like us. I measured the tank volume water level change by marking with a sharpie the top of the water line and using a tape measure to estimate the tank's rhomboidal volume, then the level when water is flushed. It was approximately 1.5-1.6 gallons just as promised. The suck and rapid flush and refill made me doubt the volumes moved per flush until I did this measurement to reassure myself.
