By using the head of the person as a measure, I explain how beginners to drawing can achieve proportion of the figure in their drawings. Step by step I show how to measure the head and use this to work out the proportion of a child or an adult. In general terms the small child's body is around 4 times the size of his head, whereas in an adult the body can be up to 8 times the size of the head.
