About Guest Speakers Ellie Laks is the Founder of The Gentle Barn, a national organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused animals while offering healing for people who share similar experiences. She is an animal communicator, celebrated animal welfare advocate, humane educator, and the author of My Gentle Barn: Creating a Sanctuary Where Animals Heal and Children Learn to Hope. Ellie founded The Gentle Barn in 1999 and developed her own “Gentle Healing” method—a blend of Western medicine, holistic healing, and unconditional love—helping old, sick, injured, and terrified animals recover. She is also known for her cow hug therapy and has hosted hundreds of thousands of guests at the sanctuary. Ellie has appeared on prominent media platforms such as The Ellen Show, People Magazine, Animal Planet, and The New York Times. A TEDx speaker and keynote motivator, she empowers audiences to embrace higher awareness, compassion, and a sense of purpose. Ellie’s vision is to be a voice for animals, sharing their stories and opening human hearts to all living beings, teaching kindness, compassion, and understanding for animals, each other, and our planet. Dawn Hayman is a pioneer in the field of Animal Communication, starting her professional journey in 1987. She has helped over 8,000 clients and communicated with more than 50,000 animals throughout her career. As co-founder of Spring Farm CARES, Dawn has gained profound insights into animals' perceptions and their connection with humans. Established in 1991, Spring Farm CARES is a sanctuary home to hundreds of animals and a 250-acre Nature Sanctuary. Dawn has co-authored books, including 'If Only They Could Talk,' 'The Miracles of Spring Farm,' and 'The Magic Years.' She also wrote 'Animal Wisdom for Mankind' and numerous articles for journals.
